Lura Bentley dies in Douglas

Lura Etta Bentley, 81, died at the Converse County Hospital in Douglas Sunday. Funeral service was held in Lusk from the Peet Chapel Tuesday with the Rev. Fred Bolinger of the First Baptist Church of Lusk officiating.

Mrs. Bentley was born Nov. 30, 1886, at Plainview, Nebr., to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hawkins. Her mother died when she was an infant, and she was reared by an uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. George Randall at Neligh, Nebr. She married Jim Bentley in Nebraska, and in 1914 they moved to Niobrara County and homesteaded what has been known as the Charles Heumier place north of Lusk.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Minnie Pavey of Riverton. Her parents and husband died previously.

Mrs. J. P. Watson was organist for the service. Casketbearers were Bill Magoon, Ernie Hansen, Charles Heumier, Lafe Culver, John Goddard, John Lorenzen. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.
