Isaac McConaughey Dies, Aged 87

Isaac Newton McConaughey, 87, farmer eight miles northeast of Lusk, died at the farm home at 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 3:00 o'clock from the Peet Mortuary with the Rev. Milard Marshall officiating. Interment was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Frank Taylor, Ed Stigile, Clarence Kilmer, Jess McCormick, Emil Klemke and Lee Schrum. Singers were Mrs. Robert Kuns, Miss Patricia Taylor, George Gibson and Gerald Bardo, and Miss Alice Fowler, organist.

Mr. McConaughey came to this vicinity 23 years ago. He was born at Knoxville, Ia., the son of Andrew and Polly McConaughey, November 27, 1854. He grew to manhood in that community and in 1883 married Mary M. Miley, also of Knoxville.

To them were born six children, Two, Helen and Leah previouly died. Surviving are Joseph of Lusk, Paul of Tacoma, Wash., Catherine of Seattle, Wash. and Theodore of Borger, Texas. His wife and companion for 59 years, is living. A brother, Nelson of Hay Springs, Nebr. and one sister, Mrs. C.W. Jones of Knoxville also survive.
