Harold Blackmore

A graveside service was held Monday morning at Lusk Cemetery for former Lusk resident Harold Blackmore. The Rev. Edward Freeman officiated at the service. Pallbearers were Delbert Outhouse, Del Alter, Earl Quigley, Orval Allen, John Goddard and H. E. Hansen.

Harold Glen Blackmore was one of twelve children born to William and Lela Blackmore. He was born May 10, 1910, in eastern Nebraska. He moved with his family to this area when he was young and attended Lusk schools and worked in the Lusk area until 1934. At that time he moved to Yakima Valley in Washington state.

Blackmore and LaVergu Henderson were married in 1936 and they were the parents of four children. In 1954, Blackmore moved to McLeary, Washington. He has been ill for about the past year and he died at his daughter's home in Tacoma, Wash., May 15.

He is survived by his two daughters and two sons, Donna Holis, Los Angeles, Calif., Dorothy Stoan, Tacoma; Douglas Blackmore, Ellensberg, Wa. and Denzel Blackmore, Prosser, Wa; two brothers, Guy Blackmore, Los Angeles and Bruce Blackmore, Dallas, Texas; one sister Anna May Lint, Arlington, Va., and other relatives and friends.
