John Anderson Dies Suddenly

John Anderson Jr., 58, rancher some 18 miles southwest of Harrison, died of a heart attack while fixing fence Tuesday morning.

He had made a date with Buck Jordan to repair fence, and Mr. Jordan found him about 10:00 o'clock two miles from the Anderson house. He was apparently dead at the time. Mr. Jordan went to the Chuck Bourret ranch to call the ambulance from Harrison with Pard Partridge and Charles Umphenour responding.

Mr. Anderson was taken to the Crawford Hospital where he was pronouceced dead. He had been in apparent good health, though complained of not feeling well the night before. He was alone at home.

He leaves his wife, Vera, who is a teacher in the Lusk Grade School, a son, Calvin in the 6th grade at Lusk, and two older sons, Larry at Casper, and Jerry now working on highway construction out of Lusk. He is the only son of Tillie Anderson of Harrison.

Funeral services will be held from the Harrison Methodist Church Friday at 2:00 with burial in the Harrison Cemetery. Houston Mortuary, Crawford, is in charge.

Last Rites Held Fri. For John Anderson

Funeral services for John Albert Anderson, Jr., were held Friday from the Harrison Methodist Church with the Rev. Victor Ireland officiating. Burial was in the family lot in the Harrison Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Maurice Keel, Rudolph Geike, Adolph Zurcher, Dan Hebner, John Broderick, and Edward (Buck) Jordan.

Mr. Anderson was born July 26, 1903 on a ranch north of Harrison, the only son of the late Nels Anderson and Tillie Christensen Anderson now living at Harrison. His entire life was spent in Sioux County.

In 1933 he was married to Vera McElmeel of Crawford and to them~ were born three sons, Gerlald Nelson of Harrison, Charles Larry of Casper, Wyo., and Calvin Frank at home.

He moved to a ranch south of Harrison in 1927 where he has resided since. Surviving in addition to his wife and three Sons are his mother, seven grandchildren, and an aunt, Mrs. Kate Webster of Crawford.
