Mr. Wilhermsdorfer, a native of Illinois, was born at Kirkwood. When but a small child, he moved with his family to Iowa, where they resided until 1900. That year the deceased, with his wife moved to Harrison, which has since been the family home.

He was long affiliated with civic affairs in the Sioux county seat, serving as postmaster for seven years, as county judge during the years 1904-08 and from 1920 to 1947, when illness forced his retirement. During the early years of the automobile, he had the dealership in Harrison for Ford cars, also operated a harness and shoe repair shop and was considered an expert gunsmith.

Mr. Wilhermsdorfer was a charter member of the Odd Fellow lodge at Harrison, and of the Sioux County fair board, and for many years was affiliated with the Masonic order.

The high regard and esteem in which he was held by his fellow ciizens is attested in his public service as county judge in which capacity he served for more than thirty years.
