Mrs. Edgar Johns Dies Thursday as Daughter Is Born

Mrs. Edgar P. Johns, 22, died in the Lusk Hospital at 11:00 a.m. August 18 following the birth of a daughter. Funeral services were conducted from the Peet Chapel Sunday at 1:30 o'clock with the Rev. H. T. Clark officiating.

Music was provided by a trio composed of Bessie Lumsden, Mrs. Emerson Bonner and Mrs. A.F. DeCastro. The trio sang "Beautful Isle" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus." Mrs. E. Floyd Deuel was chapel organist.

Burial was made in the Lusk cemetery with the following acting as pallbearers: C. E. Marvin, Albert Penn, Claude Crittendon, Oscar Bostrom, Everett Smith and Dale Anderson.

Melvena A. Johns, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Jeppeson was born in Council Bluffs, Ia., Sept. 13, 1927. In 1928 she came with her parents to Edgemont, S. Dak. She received her education and grew to womanhood in that city.

She was married to Edgar P. Johns April 24, 1946 in Sidney, Nebraska. To them were born four children, Herbert Leon 4, Edgar Pearl 3, Joan Marie 17 months and Judy Lou, the infant baby.

Mr. and Mrs. Johns have lived in Lusk the past two and one half years. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary in Hemingford, Nebraska.
