Frank Long Dies At Torrington
Frank Long, 59, and a resident of this community since 1933 was found dead in his bed at Torrington on August 29. He had gone to Torrington a couple of weeks before to work at a bar in that city. His death was attributed to a heart attack by Goshen County Coroner Colyer.
The remains were brought to Lusk for burial and services were conducted from the Peet Chapel on Sunday afternoon by Rev. L. P. Juell. The music was furnished by Rex Yocum and Donley Unruh who sang "Old Rugged Cross" and "We're Going Down the Valley".
The casket bearers were Ray Baughn, Bob and George Hardman, Ray Jenkins, Frank Christian and Leo Deuel. Interment was made in the Lusk cemetery.
A brother-in-law of the deceased man was located in Sheridan and a step-son in Denver, but neither could come for the services.
Long was a guard at the state penitentiary between the years 1942 and '43. Practically nothing is known of his early life. He came here about 1933 and was employed in ranch work at various ranches and had worked at the Don Harris ranch near Jay Em this summer. He had evidently gone to Torrington seeking employment for the winter.
