Stanley Fraser Dies Friday, Funeral Monday

Funeral services were held Monday for Mitchell Fraser, 47, who died Friday, Dec. 20, following a major operation Monday. He had been ailing since August and was brought to the Spencer Hospital several days before his death.

Mr. Fraser was born at Quoque, Long Island, N.Y., Feb. 2, 1899, the son of John and Anna Fraser. His parents died when he was a small boy, and he lived at Long Island only until 14. At that time he came west to Cheyenne and has spent the remainder of his life in Wyoming, except for a year's service in the U.S. Army.

In 1928 he married Phebe Roberts and to them were born six children, all of whom are living at Manville. They are Stanley Floyd, Grace Leona, Phebe Janice, Anna May, Phillip Russel and Myrna Wanda. He is also survived by four brothers - Jim, Roderick, Wallace and Scott, and three sisters - Margaret, Edith and Jess of New York. The family lived at Lance Creek until moving to Manville a year ago.

Mr. Fraser worked at at Lance Creek for the past four years for the Rocky Mountain Pipe Line Co. Men worked with him were pallbearers at the funeral - Beecher Sturbe, C.C. Gillespie, Stace Peet, Lester Davis, J.C. Baughn and Harold Waddel.

Funeral services were held from the Peet Chapel at 2:00 o'clock Monday afternoon, with a military escort from Weiten-Dupes Post No. 4 of the American legion, and Legion rites were held at the grave, in charge of Rev. Clyde Hampton, post chaplain. Interment was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Beryl Fullerton and Mrs. O.M. Rasmusen of the Manville Chruch sang "Rock of Ages," "Safe in the Arms of Jesus," and "Beyond the Sunset," and were accompanied by Mrs. J.P. Watson. Rev. Lawrence Juell, pastor of the Congregational Church in Lusk, had charge of the services.

Stanley Fraser Dies in Lusk Friday

Stanley Fraser passed away in a hospital in Lusk, Friday, December 20th. He submitted to surgery on Monday and failed to rally. The Frasers are former residents of Lance Creek where he was employed by the Continental Pipe Line. They were transferred to Manville a year ago. The field extends their sincerest sympathy to the family.
