Former State Senator A.J. Stenner Succumbs
POWELL - Masonic services will be held Wednesday for Dr. A.J. Stenner, a former state senator.
Stenner died of a heart attack Sunday morning at the Powell hospital.

Services Wednesday will be at 2 p.m. in the Easton Funeral Home with burial in the Crown Hill Cemetery.
Dr. Stenner was born April 27, 1896, in Red Willow County, Neb., the son of Antone E. and Rosa Mae Stenner. The family moved to the North Platte, Neb. area in 1901 and he attended schools there.
He worked as a ranch hand and served in the Army in 1918-1919.
From 1919 to 1921 he worked for Bar-Seven Frontier Days contactors of Sutherland, Neb., as a saddle bronc rider.
He attended the national College of Chiropractry in Chicago and practiced in Cody before moving to Powell. He retired in 1962.
On July 18, 1927 he married Marie Dziak in Chicago. From 1936 to 1940, Dr. Stenner served in the Wyoming State Senate.
He was a member of Absarokee Lodge No. 30 AF & AM, Sheridan Scottish Rite, Powell American Legion and Powell World War I barrack of 1898.
He was also an adopted member of the Northern Cheyenne tribe and was appointed twice to the national Rifle Matches in Camp Perry, Ohio.
Survivors include the widow; two sons, John Stenner of Riverton and Dan Stenner of Chicago; a sister, Mrs. Sylvia Krippen of Fresno, Calif.; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
