Fred E. Stewart, 58 years of age, and a resident of this city since 1900, died at 7:40 o'clock Sunday morning. He had opened his place of business for the day when he was stricken with a sudden coughing attack and died immediately. For as much as a year Mr. Stewart had suffered from a heart affliction which made his condition precarious.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon, at the Davis chapel at 1:00 o'clock and at the Presbyterian Church at 1:30, when Rev. Daniel Knox Ford will officiate. Burial will be made at Elkton, beside his parents, William and Jane Stewart. Pall bearers from the membership of the Woodman fraternity, of which Mr. Stewart was a member will be Henry Reese, H.C. Ruckle, Harry Hanson, Ole Holvig, Hugh Stokes and Tom Plummer.

Fred Edward Stewart was born October 8, 1883, and died at Flandereau, S.D., December 1, 1941, aged 58 years, one month and 23 days. When he was but two years of age he came to Moody County with his parents, to make their home on a homestead south of Elkton.
