Anna Updike
Relative of Updikes Dies in California
Word was received here last Friday by Charles Updike, of the death of Mrs. Anna Updike, wife of Mr. Updike's youngest brother, who passed away at her home in Balboa, Calif., that morning. Death was caused by complications which set in following an accident occurring about three years ago.
The deceased and her husband were professional acrobats, and for many years were engaged in circus work, and it was while performing that the accident happened, caused by a defectively set up safety net.
These people with their son, resided in the Hat Creek vicinity for about three years, moving from there about four years ago to resume their profession. A year later Mrs. Updike received the injury which was instrumental in her death. She was about 35 years of age. Funeral services were held at Balboa. Her husband and one son, Claude survive.
