Mrs. Ida Larson, 91, Dies Friday

Death came peacefully to Mrs. Ida Larson, aged 91, at the Manring Convalescent Home, during her sleep, early Friday morning, November 21.

Mrs. Larson suffered a fractured hip in December of last year and was a patient at the Spencer Hospital until February of 1952, when she was moved to the Manring home.

Ida Christine Erickson was born November 21, 1861, at Venisburg, near Stockholm Sweden, and when 21 years of age came to the United States, locating at Hooper, Neb. In 1883 she was married to Carl August Larson, and they were the parents of eight children. They resided on a place nine miles from Crawford, Neb., until 1900, when they moved in and around Harrison, where the family has since resided.

Her husband and two children, A. W. Larson of Grand Island, and Mrs. Lillian O'Shea of Harrison preceded here in death.

Funeral services were held from the Methodist Church at Harrison, Sunday afternoon, at 1:30 o'clock, with the Rev. Carl Harbour officiating. Music was furnished by a ladies' quartet composed of Joy York, Irene Wilson, Shirley Zurcher and Lawana Lacey, with Mrs. Floyd Cashett as accompanist.

Arrangements were in charge of the Peet Mortuary of Lusk. She was laid to rest in the Harrison cemetery beside here husband and daughter. Casket bearers were John Marking, Lou Iverson, Luther Koch, Wm. Unitt, Ed Miller and Chester Lacey.

Survivors include five sons and a daughter: Lenus C. Larson of Chadron, Neb.; Fred G. Larson, of Omaha, Neb.; Roy Larson, Hemet, Calif.; Anton E. Larson, Lusk; Ralph Larson, Harrison; Mrs. Ella Christian, Crawford, Neb.; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Ida C. Larson, Mother of A. E. Larson Dies at Manring Convalescent Home, Friday; Burial in Harrison, Nebr.

Death claimed the life of Mrs. Ida C. Larson, mother of A. E. Larson of this city, at 12:45 p.m. Friday afternoon, November 21st, at the Manring Convalescent home, where he had been cared for during the past few months.

Last rites were at 1:30 p.m., Sunday afternoon, November 23rd, at the Methodist Church in Harrison, Nebr., with Rev. Carl Harbour officiating. During the services, which were under the arrangement of the Peet Funeral home, three selections, "The Old Rugged Cross," "Beautiful Isle" and "Back of the Clouds" were sung by the Misses Joy York, Lawanna Lacy, Irene Wilson, and Shirley Zurcher with accompaniment by Mrs. Floyd Cashatt.

Bearing the remains to their last resting place, in the Harrison cemetery, were John Marking, Wayne Unitt, Tom Iversen, Chester Lacy, Ed Meier and Luther Kosh.

Ida Christina Erickson was born at Venisburg, Sweden, near Stockholm on September 12th, 1861. She passed away at Lusk, Wyoming November 21st, 1952 at the age of 91 years, two months and nine days.

She came to the United States at the age of 21 years, and settled near Hooper, Nebr. In 1883, she was united in marriage to Carl August Larson. To this union were born eight children.

For many years the family resided nine miles north of Crawford, Nebr. Since 1900, they have lived in and around Harrison, Nebr.

Mrs. Larson was a kind and loving mother and grandmother, always sacrificing herself to help those around her. She was a faithful and loving wife and a kind and considerate friend.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Alex W. Larson of Grand Island, Nebr., and a daughter, Mrs. Lillie O'Shea of Harrison, Nebr. She is survived by five sons, A. E. Larson, of Lusk, Wyo., Lewis C. Larson of Chadron, Nebr., Fred G. Larson of Omaha, Nebr., Roy A. Larson of Hemet, Calif., and Ralph Larson of Harrison, Nebr., one daughter, Mrs. Ella Christian of Crawford, Nebr., nine grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
