Carl was born June 14, 1914 in Keeline, Wyoming. Carl died peacefully Sunday morning Dec. 14, 2008 in Federal Way, WA. He married Lulu Anderson on May 8, 1938, in Lusk, Wyoming and they lovingly enjoyed 70 years together. They had four children; Kenneth (Gloria) Anderson of Port Orchard, WA, Robert (Kathy) Anderson of Hobart, WA, Ruth Richardson of Federal Way, WA, and Arda (Bob) Wetzler of Federal Way, WA. He is survived by his wife, Lulu, four children, seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandson John Howard Anderson, of Hobart.

Carl made his living as a printer from his early years in Lusk, WY, where he worked at the Lusk Free Lance paper. Carl operated and maintained the linotype machines in Lusk, Kennewick, Ellensburg and finally at the Bremerton Sun in Bremerton. He was proud of his membership in the International Typographical Union.

Carl and Lulu and their four children moved to a five-acre farm in Olalla in 1951 with the purpose of teaching their children how to work. Carl was a large part of the construction of the Bethany Lutheran Church (log church) on Sidney Avenue in Port Orchard, and remained active in the new building on Tremont Street.

Visitation viewing will be available at Rill's Funeral Home, Saturday, Dec. 20. Services will be at Bethany Lutheran Church in Port Orchard, Washington on Monday Dec. 22, 2008 at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Sunset Lane Cemetery also in Port Orchard.
