David Edd Adams

David Edd Adams, 68, of Manville, Wyo. passed away Friday Dec. 26, 2008, in his home on the Andy Nelson ranch in Manville. Visitation was held Tuesday Dec. 30 at Pier Funeral home in Lusk from 3 to 6 p.m. Services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday Dec. 31 at the Manville Community Church, with Pastor Brent Venable officiating. Interment followed at the Manville Cemetery.

David was born to Edward Andrew Adams and Willie Arizona (Roy) Adams on Oct. 7, 1940, in Durant, Okla. He attended school in Arvin, Calif., where he was active in FFA.

David met his wife, Donna Jean Holyfield, in Arvin, and they were married on Dec. 7, 1961. They had four children: Laura Lee, Linda Lou, David Edd Jr. and Diane Elizabeth. David Jr. died April 1989.

David worked on various farms in the Arvin, Bakersfield area. David worked for salvage businesses in the Willamette Valley in Oregon, and in 1978 they opened a wrecking yard/salvage business in Lebanon, Ore., where they lived until 1989.

David was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Larry. Larry was a twin to Steve Adams.

He is survived by his wife Donna of Manville, Wyo., children Laura Lee Burbach of Surprise, Ariz., Linda Lou Matlock of Manville, and Diane Elizabeth Kay of Talent, Ore.; 10 brothers and sisters, James Adams of Arvin, Calif., Tina Bishop of Tulare, Calif., Ann Baggett of Lusk, Wyo., Jean Kliven of Phoenix Ariz., Dorsey Smith of Eufaula, Okla., William Adams of Manville, Wyo., Steve Adams of Bakersfield, Calif, Walter Adams of Halsey, Ore., Alice Basta of Arvin, Calif., and Tom Adams of Lebanon, Ore. He left nine grandchildren living in Oregon, Ariz. and Utah; and five great-grandchildren, all living.

Pier Funeral Home in Lusk is in charge of arrangements.
