Anton Fisher Dies at Torrington Oct. 2

Anton J. Fisher, 90, a pioneer Goshen county resident, died at his home in Torrington, October 2. He was well known in the Prairie Center community.

He was born at Dresden, Germany, June 5, 1873. He came to the United States 74 years ago, and to Wyoming in 1897, where he worked for the Union Pacific Railroad while the tracks were being built to Encampment.

He married Louisa Armburst in 1899. They lived in Nebraska until 1912 when they moved to the northern part of Goshen county. In 1943 he retired and moved to Torrington.

He is survived by his widow, three sons, Albert, of Ft. Laramie, Harry of Lodge Grass, Mont., and Bill of Hot Springs, S. D.; five daughters, Mrs. Clara Heller of Ft. Laramie, Mrs. Anna Redifer of Van Tassell, Mrs. Rose Kenyon of Monterey, Calif., Mrs. Lillian Hoyt of Silverton, Ore., and Mrs. Margaret Randall of Fremont; one sister, Mrs. Marie Van Slyke of Truewater, Wash.; and 17 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held October 5, at the Torrington Presbyterian church with the Rev. Howard Osborne officiating. Burial was in the Valley View Cemetery.
