Baby Faust Passes Away

The following article, published in the Lusk Herald, is courtesy of the Wyoming Newspaper Project.

Harold Porter Faust, the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Faust, died Friday morning, aged 4 months and 2 days, after an illness of six weeks, and despite all that the grief-stricken parents and medical attention could do to prolong its life. The funeral was held from the Congregational church and was attended by a large number of sympathizing friends and neighbors. The tiny casket, smothered in flowers, was borne into and from the church by four little boys as pallbearers, viz., Roger Shipley, Max Bell, George Fernau and Lee Miller. The service, conducted by Rev. Wm. Flammer of Jireh, was most appropriate, the speaker's theme being an exposition of the Master's saying, "And a little child shall lead them." Mesdames Reed and North sang very feelingly the duet, "Sleep, My Little One, Sleep!" and the choir rendered those two beautiful hymns, "Gathering Home" and "We Shall Sleep, But Not Forever." The parents and relatives have the sincere sympathy of the whole community in their bereavement. Interment was made in Lusk Cemetery, Saturday.

Note: The Lusk Cemetery records have a death date of September 20, 1911, which would have been a Wednesday. The Friday stated above would have been September 22, 1911. The cemetery records were used in this database.
