Lester Davis Dies Suddenly
The entire community was shocked Saturday to learn of the death of Lester Davis who for many years lived in Lance Creek. He had a heart attack and was rushed to the Spencer hospital where he died ealy Saturday morning.
Mr. Davis was born September 22, 1915 at Scoby, Mont. He went to work for the Continental Pipeline Company in Lance Creek in 1943. He married Clara Mae Kelly. Two sons, Dannie James and William Edwin, were born. He was later married to Laura Rathburn at Cheyenne on October 13, 1960. At the time of his death Mr. Davis was employed at Guernsey by the Continental Oil Company but the family home was in Manville.
He leaves his wife, Laura; two sons, Dannie stationed at the San Diego Naval Base; William of the family home; three stepchilden Crystal of the family home, LaVon who recently returned from Puerto Rico and Kenneth of Rock Springs; three sisters, Mrs. Loretta Kelly of Linch, who was Lester's twin, Mrs. Lola Leplay of Marshalltown, Iowa and Mrs. Lily Mooreman of Montoura, Iowa, and a brother, Glen, of Albian, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brothers and a sister.
Funeral services were held at the Peet Chapel, Tuesday, at 2:30 p.m.
