Anton Zielinski Dies April 3rd; Funeral at Van Tassell Saturday

Anton Zielinski, 71 years of age, and for a number of years a resident of the Van Tassell vicinity, passed away Tuesday, April 3rd, at the state hospital at Evanston. Death was due to bronchial pneumonia from which the deceased suffered about two weeks.

The remains were shipped to this city, arriving Friday morning, and were placed in charge of George Earl Peet, mortician.

Funeral services were held from the Catholic church at Van Tassell Saturday, April 7th, at 10:30 a.m., Father Bruno of Douglas officiating. Interment was made in the Van Tassell cemetery.

The pallbearers were Harry Burnham, George Hulse, Hill Boyles, Michael Kuester, Edward Brown and Andrew McMasters.

Mr. Zielinski was a native of Poland, his birth date being August 28, 1862. There he grew to manhood, and in 1888 he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Rakowski.

Several years later they came to the United States, locating near Chicago where they spent some time, and in 1900 removing to the vicinity of Neligh, Nebr. They lived there for the following ten years and in 1910 came to this county, locating about six and a half miles southwest of Van Tassell, where the family has since resided.

Mr. Zielinski was preceded in death by his wife, who died in December, 1931. He is survived by four sons, Joe, John and Stanley, of Chicago, Ill., Alfonse, of Van Tassell; and two daughters, Pauline, of Casper, and Helen, of Van Tassell.
