Nora Chase

Funeral service for Mrs. Nora Chase, Lusk, was held Monday afternoon. Mrs. Chase died Friday at Niobrara Memorial Hospital. She was an active member of the Senior Citizen group here and of the First Baptist church.

Nora E. Chase was born in Ainsworth, Neb., Sept. 28, 1896. She spent her childhood in Lake Andes, S. D. In 1912 she was married to August Pavlacky. Her early married life was spent farming in Nebraska. They moved to Wyoming in 1918 where she spent the remainder of her life.

She had a green thumb, loved plants and shared them with her friends and neighbors. "Her happiest moments were spent with her family and friends," said her family.

The funeral, held at Peet Mortuary Chapel, was conducted by the Rev. Frank Bozart. Mrs. Marilyn Cockreham sang "In the Garden" and "How Great Thou Art" with Mrs. Edna DeCastro, organist, accompanying her.

Casket bearers were Johnnie Thon, L. T. Bonner, Joe Vaughan, Charles Vaughan, Bud Wilkison and Lloyd Coleman. Interment was in Lusk Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by one son and two daughters and was the last remaining member of a family of 5 brothers and one sister.

She is survived by four sons: Marvin of Sacramento, Calif., Charles of LaMirada, Calif., Kenneth of Torrington, and Erwin of Mountain Home, Ida.; 3 daughters, Myrrel Vodopich of La Mirada, Mildred Kellogg of Grants Pass, and Doris Mahnke of Lusk; 22 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
