Albert Edward Bunge

Funeral service was held last Thursday at the Harrison Lutheran Church for Albert Bunge. The Rev. Herbert Schuler officiated.

Albert Edward Bunge was born April 10, 1902, to Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Bunge in Highland community of Sioux county and lived his entire life in that community. He died Feb. 16 at the age of 78 years, after a long illness.

On March 24, 1931 he and Dora Louise Engebretsen were married. They were the parents of two children, Doreen Alberta and Dean Edward. Mrs. Bunge died in December of 1934 after the birth of their son. He reared his children with the help of his mother and sister Anna.

Survivors are his children Doreen (Mrs. Charles Smith), his son Dean, six grandchildren, Alan Smith, Jay Dee Smith, Douglas Bunge, Edward Bunge, Rene' Larson and Diane Bunge; and five great-grandchildren, his sisters Minnie Zimmerman and Anna Bunge. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dora, his father and mother Ernest and Magdalena Bunge and his half sister Ida Serres.

He was a quiet, gentle man, much loved by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a good friend and neighbor, according to a tribute by the family.

A memorial has been established to the Harrison Ambulance Fund.

Houston-Hartman-Chamberlain Funeral Home of Crawford was in charge of the arrangements.
