Mrs. Andrew Ellicott Gone

The following two articles were published in the Van Tassell Pioneer

Thursday afternoon at 5 o'clock Mrs. Carrie Ellicott passed away at the ranch home north of Coffee Siding, the immediate cause being congestion of the lungs.

Mrs. Ellicott, who was in her seventy-second year, came with her husband and children from Clarion, Iowa, to Harrison in the springs of 1907, and has resided on the ranch near Coffee Siding since, where Mrs. Ellicott will be missed, for she has always been found a model neighbor and a friend to everybody.

The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the sorrowing husband and children - Miss Lettie Ellicott, and Messrs. Don and Earl Ellicott - all of whom live here.

The funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Methodist church at Harrison, with interment at Harrison cemetery.

Obituary

CAROLINA MARIA HARRIS was born August 14, 1844, at Polo, Ogle county, Illinois; died at her home near Harrison, Nebraska, December 2, 1915, after only a few days sickness.

On August 28, 1879, at Dixon, Illinois, she was married to Andrew Ellicott, who with three children - Don H., Mary Letitia and Earl A., still survive, and are living in this county, near Coffee Siding.

In 1882 they moved from Polo to Clarion, Iowa, where they made their home until the spring of 1908, when they came west to Harrison, Nebraska, where they lived for a few months, until they could build on their homestead south of Coffee Siding and about nine miles southwest of Harrison, where she lived until called to that better land.

Funeral services were held at the M. E. church in Harrison Sunday afternoon, December 5, conducted by Rev. F. Fisher, of Crawford, interment being in the Harrison cemetery.
