Robert L. Bannan of Crawford, Neb., died at a Chadron hospital on Saturday, March 16, from the effects of a heart attack, and was buried in the Lusk cemetery Tuesday forenoon.

Robert Lee Bannon, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Bannan, was born near Harrison, Neb., on February 28, 1892. He grew to manhood in Sioux County and served in World War I. He was married January 2, 1918, to Elva Webster at Harrison, and four children were born to them - Robert and William of Crawford, Mrs. Mary Moore of Casper, Wyo., and Richard, a Seabee, stationed on Okinawa Island.

In 1922 Mr. Bannan entered the employment of the Chicago & Northwestern railroad and lived at several places in Wyoming while he was working for the railroad.

He was married to Mrs. Florence Porter of Lusk in 1942 and they moved to Crawford to make their home. Of late years he has been employed as storekeeper at the Fort Robinson commissary, which position he held at the time of his death.

Surviving him is his wife, Florence; his four children, four step-children, three brothers, George, William and John of Crawford; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Coffee of Harrison and Miss Nellie Banner of Manville, besides numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the Houston Funeral Home in Crawford, Tuesday morning, the 19th of March, with the American Legion in charge and the remains were then brought to Lusk, where burial was made.
