Mary Goddard Dies at Casper

Mrs. Mary Goddard died at the Casper Memorial Hospital, Tuesday night, Dec. 10th, after a long illness.

Mrs. Goddard was taken to Casper last summer, where her daughter, Mrs. Helen Wilson, was able to be with her and care for her mother.

The remains were brought to Lusk Wednesday morning by the Peet Mortuary, but as The Herald goes to press no arrangements have been made in regard to the funeral.

Mrs. Goddard has lived in Lusk and vicinity some 35 years and was known to a large circle of friends.

Surviving her are two daughters, Mrs. Laura Wilson and Mrs. Helen Wilson; a son, Allen Sheridan, and a step-son, John Goddard.

Last Rites Held For Mary Goddard

The last rites were held for Mrs. Mary Goddard at St. Leo's Catholic Church on Monday morning, Dec. 16, at 10:00 o'clock, by Father Miller.

Songs were sung by Mrs. Frank A. Barrett, Mrs. Carl Bruch, Miss Elizabeth Bruch and George Gibson, with Mrs. Gibson presiding at the organ.

The casket bearers were Henry McGinnis, Beecher Strube, Gaylord Anderson, Lee Penn, Albert Olinger and John Lorenzen.

Interment was made in the Lusk Cemetery beside her late husband, Daniel E. Goddard.

Mrs. Goddard had been in ill health for a number of years and several months ago was taken to Casper, Wyo., where he daughter, Mrs. Laura Wilson, resides. She passed away Tuesday, December 10, at 11:08 p.m., and the remains were brought to the Peet Chapel in Lusk.

Rosary services were held at the Chapel on Sunday evening by Father Miller.

Mrs. Goddard was born at Tittannock, Pa., in 1873. She was married to Mr. Sheridan and they moved to Wyoming in 1912 and homesteaded north of Lusk. Several years after the death of her husband she was married to Daniel E. Goddard, Jr., and they made their home on his ranch north of LUsk. In 1936 Mr. Goddard died and after a few years Mrs. Goddard moved into town to live, where she made her home until going to Casper a few months ago.

Surviving her are two daughters, Mrs. Helen Wilson of Vancouver, Wash., Mrs. Laura Wilson of Casper, a son, Allan Sheridan, and a step-son, John Goddard, both of Hat Creek.
