Diane Elaine Fenno

Diane Elaine Fenno, or Cookie, as she was to all who knew her, went to be with our Lord on Jan. 12, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. A funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 17 at the Niobrara County Fairgrounds Auditorium in Lusk. Pastor Tony Perry of the Crossroads Ministries in Lusk (conducted) the service.

Cookie was a very gracious and loving person, who would give all of herself to help others when needed. She was a devout Christian who loved and served the Lord unendingly. Cookie was active in the church and shared her faith of the Lord with those around her.

Cookie was born on Oct. 28, 1942 in Hartford, Conn., to Josephine and Roy Cronsell. Cookie was married to Robert Root, with whom they had a daughter, Tina.

Cookie moved to Colorado in 1976 to pursue the western way of life she loved, and her love for horses. A short and beloved marriage to Hank Nasuta ended when Hank died of a sudden heart attack.

While managing a small cow calf operation near Wellington, Colorado, she met the love of her life, John Fenno, whom she married in September of 1991. Together John and Cookie shared their love for the Lord, their love for cattle, horses, and for their love for family and community for the last twenty years.

Cookie is survived by her loving husband John Fenno of Lusk, Wyo., her daughter,Tina Fithian, one brother John Cronsell of Fort Collins, and her grandchildren; Christina Fithian and Richard Fithian of Bozeman, Mont. and Donna Zoeller, and her great grandchildren; Brianna and Caden Zoeller and one stepson Jeff Nasuta.

A memorial has been established to the Crossroads Ministries in Lusk or of the donor's choice.

Pier Funeral Home in Lusk was in charge of the arrangements.
