OBITUARY - James Joseph Vondra

James Joseph Vondra, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Vondra, was born at Dwight, Nebr., Nov. 15, 1918, and died at Lusk, Wyo., Aug. 19, 1939, at the age of 20 years, nine months, four days, following a brief illness.

On Monday he was operated on for appendicitis from which he failed to rally.

He attended the Pleasant Dale rural school after which he was engaged in farming with his father. Jimmy was well known, and loved, and won many loyal friends by his sunny disposition and honorable character. His first thought was always for the other person, regardless of the weight of his own load.

Besides his parents, he leaves to mourn his loss four sisters, Vivian, Esther, Helen, and Patricia Ann; two brothers, Richard and Kenneth, all of Lusk, Wyo.; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Vondra, Casper, Wyo., numerous relatives, and a host of friends.

Funeral Rites For Jay Em Youth Tues

Funeral services for James Joseph Vondra of Jay Em who died Saturday, were held in Lusk on Tuesday morning at the St. Leo's Catholic church under Father Martin, following a 10 o'clock rosary service at the Peet chapel. The young man, known as Jimmy, died at the Lusk hospital on Saturday, August 19, of peritonitis following an appendectomy.

James Joseph was the son of Mr. and Mrs. James L. Vondra. He was born November 15, 1918 while his father was in the army service. He came to Wyoming while still a young lad and lived near Jay Em. At the time of his death he was 20 years, nine months and four days old.

Burial was at Jay Em. Charles Britton, Richard Rejda, Jimmie Green, Gaylon Green, Wesley Shoults, and Ed Jewett were pall bearers.
