Memorial services for Kenneth W. "Bud" Vondra, 67, were Tuesday, Jan. 3, 1995, at the Colyer Funeral Home. Cremation had taken place. Mr. Vondra died at his home Dec. 30, 1994.

He was born April 22, 1927, in Winona, Minn., the son of James L. "Pete" and Mable (Ably) Vondra. He moved with his family at an early age to a homestead north of Torrington. In the early 1940's, they moved to a ranch west of Jay Em.

He entered the service in 1946. Upon his discharge, he came back to work on the ranch. He later started working part-time for Holly Sugar as a mechanic while still working on the ranch.

In the early 1960's, he began working at Holly full-time. He married Lorraine Bassford March 20, 1980, at the ranch. He retired from Holly in 1992.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine of Torrington; two sons, Jim Vondra of Laramie, and Don Gottschin of Casper; two daughters, Linda Lindemuth of Lyman and Brenda of Torrington; two sisters, Pat Kunns of Houston, Texas, and Esther Schloatman of Torrington; one brother, Richard Vondra of Torrington; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a step-mother, two sisters, one brother and a son, Bill.
