Funeral services for Cleo Ann Carpenter, 74, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012 at the Gorman Funeral Homes - Converse Chapel in Douglas, Wyoming with Pastor Roy Phillips of the Douglas Baptist Church officiating. Inurnment will be in the Douglas Park Cemetery.

Cleo Carpenter died Friday, Aug. 10, 2012 at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming.

Cleo was born Feb. 12, 1938 in Modoc, Kansas the daughter of Warren "Sparky" Cranmer and Estella (Turley) Cranmer. She was reared and educated in Scott City, Kansas. She was married to her husband of 59 years, Dean Carpenter on May 23, 1953.

Cleo worked most of her life raising seven kids, farming and ranching, and working as a secretary for Clover Propane.

She is survived by her husband Dean Carpenter, of Douglas; seven children, Jack and Nancy Carpenter of Spokane, Washington; Tim Carpenter of Glenrock, Wyoming; Carol Biel of Wichita, Kansas; Mike Carpenter of Douglas, Wyoming; Connie and Ed Sack of Douglas, Wyoming; Cathy and Bret Spracklen of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Terry Carpenter of Wheatland, Wyoming; her brother, Robert Cranmer of Kansas; her two sisters, Faye Stewart from Kansas and Donna Woodruff from Oklahoma; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Warren Cranmer; grandsons, Calvin Firnekas and Aaron Carpenter; and great-granddaughter, Faith Firnekas.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Robert Cranmer, Joe Woodruff, Jack Carpenter, Tim Carpenter, Michael Carpenter, Terry Carpenter, Edward Sack, and Brett Spracklen

Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, Aug. 13, 2012 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

A memorial to the choice of the donor would be appreciated by the family.

The Gorman Funeral Homes - Converse Chapel of Douglas is in charge of the arrangements.
