Ardale June Coffee

Funeral services for Ardale J. Coffee, 83, of Robbinsdale, Minnesota, formerly of Harrison, were Friday, October 5 at Gearty-Delmore Funeral Chapel in Robbinsdale, Minnesota and Monday, October 8, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Nativity in Harrison with Father Tim Stoner and Father Steven Deaver officiating. Burial followed at St. Mary's Cemetery in Harrison.

Ardale June went to be with her Lord on October 2, 2012 in Blaine, Minnesota. She was born on January 31, 1929 in Casper, Wyoming.

After a short battle with cancer, she passed away in her home with her family at her side.

Ardale was born January 31, 1929, to Chuck and Hattie (McCurdy) Vondra, the third of five children. She grew up in the JayEm/Prairie Center area and attended Prairie Center School, where her father, a carpenter, also served as bus driver. She went on to attend and graduate from Torrington High School.

On June 13, 1948, she married Keith Michael Coffee in Harrison, Nebraska at Church of the Nativity Catholic Church. Shortly after, the couple moved to Arlington, Virginia where Ardale worked as a secretary in the Pentagon and Keith worked as a police officer on the capital grounds. There, they bought their first house where their son - Michael Keith - was born. After a couple of years, Keith and Ardale returned to Torrington WY, where they had two more children, Kathleen and Patrick. Later, they moved to Morrill where they lived for over 30 years. There, they constructed a home and had their fourth child, Tammie. After purchasing and remodeling the old butcher shop in Morrill, the Coffee family opened Coffee's Snack and Steak House (The Snack Shack) where Ardale served as cook and manager for 10 years. After selling their café and home in Morrill, Ardale and Keith moved to Harrison and built their "retirement home" where they resided for 13 years.

In 1997 they moved to Minnesota to join their children. After Keith's passing in 1998, Ardale moved to Lee Square in Robbinsdale, MN, and later with her daughter and son in law, Kathy and Larry Alberts where Ardale lived until her death on Tuesday. Psalm 91 was a source of love, comfort and encouragement during this time.

Ardale was a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Many speak of her sweet and gentle spirit and her desire to help anyone in need. She loved gardening, singing, dancing, piano, reading books, playing cribbage, watching the Hallmark Channel and spending time with her family. Nothing brought her more happiness than having the whole family together. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her children Mike Coffee and wife Cherie, Kathy Alberts and husband Larry, Patrick Coffee and wife Tricia, Tammie Noriega and husband Arturo and 15 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Also surviving are beloved sisters-in-law Orese Vondra and Ramona Coffee and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Keith Michael Coffee, her parents Chuck and Hattie Vondra, two brothers Joe and Vern Vondra and sisters Verona Haskins and Mary Ann Sides.
