Philip acquired his degree at Oxford University in Agriculture Engineering and came to the United States from the United Kingdom as a Merchant Marine. He met and married Karen Korrell in 1974 and from that union they had two daughters, Sara and Suzanne.

After his career in law enforcement Philip married Jessie Boner and established his own construction business. Philip believed in citizenship and most importantly valued the concept of 'Brotherly Love' in which he was a major contributor giving of himself to those in need or not as fortunate as himself. As quoted from many of Philip's friends, "He was the epitome of a true English Gentleman" and his infectious sense of humor and presence will be greatly missed by many.
