Lady Dies Suddenly At Home Of Friends

Mrs. Sarah Emily Hoffman, of Chamberlain, South Dakota, passed away suddenly of a heart attack at 1:30 Saturday morning, November 4, 1939, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry B. Card, at Manville.

Mrs. Hoffman, in company with her sister, Mrs. Mary Lavell, also of Chamberlain, were enroute to California, where they were planning to spend the winter months visiting. They had stopped to visit at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Card, long time friends of theirs. They were well known in this community, having settled near Glendo in the earlier days.

The body was taken to Rapid city, South Dakota by Coroner Earl Peet on Sunday morning, from where the body was shipped to Chamberlain for burial. Mrs. Lavell was accompanied to Rapid City by Mrs. Carl Baughn, who returned to Manville the same afternoon.
