Obituary

Published in Jireh Record

William Thomas Morrish died at 6 o'clock in the evening, September 29, 1913, at his late home near Lusk, of heart disease, his age being 64 years. Mr. Morrish was born in Cornwall, England, on June 21st, 1849, and at the age of 18 came to this country where until recently he followed the occupation of mining. He had, in the course of his lifetime, visited nearly every important mining camp in this country, but most of his life was spent in Colorado and South Dakota. He was married when 21 years of age to Mary Jane Bowden at Hibernia, N.J., and his widow still lives in that State in the city of New Haven. Four daughters and one son survive their father, Mrs. Grave Capell and Mrs. Irene Friano both of New Haven; Mrs. Olive Mulvey of Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Myrtle Chattle of Denver, Colo., and Wm. T. Morrish, Jr., who resides on his farm near Lusk, Wyo.

Mr. Morrish came to Wyoming in 1909 and took up land and lived here continuously since. He had been subject to what is known as miner's consumption and since last April had been in very poor health. He was respected by all his neighbors and they, one and all, join in sympathy towards the family.

Rev. Long conducted the funeral service which was held today at his late home, interment being in Lusk cemetery.
