Virginia EaVon Ningen
Virginia EaVon Ningen, age 91, of Amarillo, Texas died at the end of a long struggle with declining health. She was one of the hardest working women and one of the most loving mothers God has created.
She was born to Albert Thorne and Emma (Oien) Thorne on October 26th, 1923 in Canby, Minnesota. She graduated from Canby High School before marrying Harold (Holly) Ningen in Minneapolis, MN on March 30, 1945.
She was the mother and teacher of seven children as they moved from Minnesota to South Dakota, then Washington, Alaska, and Wyoming.
She and Harold were long-time members of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Casper.

EaVon leaves behind seven children, Holly Smith Miner of Amarillo, TX; Vaughn Ningen of Lusk, WY; Betty Kenitzer of Bullhead City, AZ; Casper (Christy) Ningen of Hemingford, NE; Virgil (Janet) Ningen of Lusk, WY; and the twins, Mark of Casper, WY; and Melody of Bullhead City, AZ. She and Harold have 19 grandchildren, and 26 Great-Grandchildren.
Surviving siblings include sisters Lorraine Rehn of Canby, MN and Isabel Johnson of Madison, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, her parents Albert and Emma Thorne, a sister Leona Schwartz and a brother Raymond Thorne.
Funeral services were held in Casper, and she was laid to rest alongside her husband Harold in Highland Cemetery with a beautiful view of Casper Mountain, home of many Ningen Family adventures.
Funeral services for Virginia EaVon (Thorn) Ningen, 91, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Sat., Nov. 22, 2014, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 318 E. 6th, Casper, Wyo., with Reverend Jack Damien of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church officiating.
Mrs. Ningen passed away Wed., Nov. 12, 2014, at BSA Hospice in Amarillo, Tex.
Pier Funeral Home of Lusk, Wyo., is handling arrangements for the family.
