Leland Norvell Brown

Leland Norvell Brown, 86, of Lusk, died June 2, 2001 in his home in Lusk.

He was born on September 19, 1914 in El Paso County to Frank and Olivia (Norvell) Brown.

Leland married Sally (West) Brown March 9, 1935 in Raton, New Mexico. The couple saw most of the United States while Leland was employed as a heavy equipment operator. In 1951 the couple moved back to the Black Forest area where they ranched. In 1998, Leland and Sally moved to Lusk to be closer to their family. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and rancher. He was a member of Al Kaly Shrine, Masonic Lodge 153 of Castle Rock, Fraternal Order of Eagles 143 and a member of Union Local 9 for 59 years.

He is survived by a son Ronald Brown of Lance Creek and a daughter Arline and husband Chuck Paulin of Bliss, Idaho; six grandchildren: Lee Brown, Robin Charlson, Scott Paulin, Kevin Paulin, Steve Paulin, Susan Hatch and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother.

Graveside services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2001 at Spring Valley Cemetery in Larkspur, Colorado.
