Roy Franklin MacPherson
Funeral Services For MacPherson Held in Cheyenne
Funeral services for Roy F. MacPherson, editor emeritus of the Wyoming Eagle and one of Wyoming's better known newspaper men, were held in Cheyenne Monday. He was 79 and died last Thursday.
Among the survivors is a daughter Mrs. Joan Dick of Lusk.
MacPherson had suffered failing health since 1952 and last August fell and broke a hip. He failed steadily in the past few months.
MacPherson won wide recognition as editor of the Wyoming Eagle. His health forced his retirement a few years ago. He has been described as a "polished" writer and his column "Political and Otherwise" was widely read.
Among the casket bearers at the funeral services Monday was James B. Griffith, Sr., publisher of The Lusk Herald.
