Ida "Idy" Lou Bramlet

Long time resident and teacher Ida Lou "Idy" Bramlet passed away Sat., May 23, 2015 in Ft. Worth, TX surrounded by family. Idy and her husband Bob taught in Lusk for 34 years, retiring in 1986.

A private family service will be held in Lusk at St. George Episcopal Church the morning of Sat., June 27. All the many friends of Idy are invited to attend or drop by, the Celebration of Life Service at St. George Episcopal Church on Saturday, June 27 from 1:00 to 3:00.

Ida Lou "Idy" Bramlet, age 88 passed away surrounded by her family Saturday morning May 23rd, 2015 in Fort Worth, Texas.

A private family service will be held in Lusk, Wyoming on Saturday, June 27th. All of the many friends of Idy are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service from 1:00 to 3:00 that day at St. George Episcopal Church parish hall.

Born March 6, 1927 in Auburn, Nebraska to Harvey C. and Aimee A. Coleman, Idy spent her early years in southern Nebraska, Vetran, Wyoming, and Laramie, Wyoming before her family settled in Wheatland, Wyoming where she was active in band and chorus along with other activities.

She attended the University of Wyoming where she met her life's love and married Robert G. (Bob) Bramlet on September 21, 1947. After getting her teaching degree she followed Bob until she accepted a home economics position where she flourished until her retirement 34 years later.

Some of her professional achievements include University of Wyoming College of Education Golden Apple Award, Wyoming Vocational Hall of Fame, Wyoming School Board Association Golden Bell Award, National Teachers Hall of Fame, and FHA/HERO designation.

She was active in PEO, Niobrara County Library, Order of the Eastern Star, Niobrara County Republican Women, and St. George Episcopal Church.

Idy remained active in the community after retirement until moving to Wheatland, Wyoming and Fort Worth, Texas to be closer to family.

Idy inspired thousands of young people to strive to be their best. She was well known and respected among her colleagues at both the state and national levels. She also made wherever she was a better place.

Idy is survived by son Bob (Cecily) of Fort Worth, Texas and son Tom (Jill) of Wheatland, Wyoming, five grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob and her grandson Bo.
