Obituary

Merritt L. Taylor departed this life, Wednesday June 8, aged sixty-two years, one month, twenty-three days. He was a native of Manchester, Vermont and came out west forty-one years ago and settled in Nebraska. About fourteen years ago, he and Mrs. Taylor came to Wyoming and located for about a year on the Cheyenne River, afterwards taking up the ranch near Taylorville, (the post office named for him) where they lived until last spring when they sold out and decided to make their home in Lusk. Together the two had labored hard and long to earn a competency and Mrs. Taylor's regret is that he was not spared to enjoy the fruit of his labor.

Mr. Taylor was a man of sterling qualities, keen business ability and devoted loyalty to his friends, consequently he stood high in the estimation of his associates who saw in him the highest type of the successful ranchman, attained only through honesty and perseverance. His widow, and step-daughter, Mrs. Lucy F. Jones, both of whom reside here, and four sisters and three brothers living in Vermont are left to mourn his loss. All his friends are invited to attend his funeral which will take place tomorrow from the Congregational church at 3 o'clock.
