Man Killed in Turnover

H. A. Marshell, 52, of Alliance, Nebr. died in the Niobrara Memorial Hospital Tuesday morning of injuries received at 12:10 a.m. Sunday when the 1950 Oldsmobile in which he was riding turned over 5.4 miles east of Node on Highway 20. The car was driven by E. J. Farris, 33, of Alliance and was westbound. Farris and Kenneth Walters, 30, also of Alliance, suffered only minor injuries.

The Highway Patrol reports that the car blew a right front tire and skidded and rolled a total of 520 feet. Marshell was thrown out of the car and was found 57 feet beyond the point where the car came to rest in the north borrow pit.

The car was badly mangled, but it's appearance was made even worse by the paint which was splattered over much of the interior and some of the exterior. The men were painters and several cans of paint were in the car.

The Social Security Index states his name as Halmer Marshall. The 1910 and 1920 Census states the following information:

Father: James F. Marshall, b. Texas
Mother: Jassie (Josie) B. Marshall, b. Kansas

Halmar was born in Garfield, Benton, Arkansas
