Walter Grant Morgan

A memorial service for Walter Grant Morgan, age 56, will be held September 25, 2015, in Littleton, Colo. Officiating will be a Salvation Army chaplain from the Denver Red Shield Corps, and pastor Joel Richardson of the Lusk Alliance church.

Walt was born March 8, 1959, in Durango, Colorado, to Robert and Alyce (Large) Morgan. He died August 29, 2015 in Commerce City, Colo.

Walt attended schools in Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska, graduating from Grand Junction (Colo.) High School in 1977.

He married Kathie Pigg in 1981. They lived in Grand Junction and Parker, Colo. They later divorced.

Walt enjoyed his work as a a baker. Over the years he worked for several large bakery companies, in various management positions.

Most recently he lived in Lusk, arriving one day after the June 4th flood. He was adjusting to and beginning to enjoy small town life. He was a frequent patron of the county and attended the Lusk Alliance Church.

Walt was preceded in death by an infant brother in 1968, and his mother on May 21, 2015.

He is survived by his father Bob Morgan of Lusk; three sisters, Dana Williams of Lusk, Wanda Allbright of Leadville, Colo., and Leslie Morgan of Wheatridge, Colo., one daughter, Lyndsie Riggs of Denver, Colo.; two sons, Ryan Morgan and Justin Morgan both of Parker, Colo.; and two beloved granddaughters, Riley Morgan of Parker, Colo., and Harper Riggs of Denver.

The memorial service will be September 25th at 4:00 p.m., at Sterne Park in Littleton, Colo., 5800 S. Spotswood St.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Salvation Army, 2915 High St., Denver, Colo., 80205.
