H.R. Daniels, Jr.

Hiram Ross Daniels, 14-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. H.R. Daniels of Douglas and Lusk, passed away in a hospital at Boulder, Colo., last Thursday, May 19, following a protracted illness due to a complication of heart trouble and rheumatism.

Altho a long illness had kept him from enjoying the ordinary life of the average boy, young Daniels was a fine young man, possessed of a keen mind, and had a host of friends in Douglas who were grieved that he lost his valiant battle with death.

The parents had spared no expense or effort in a futile attempt to restore the young man's health, and had only recently taken him to Colorado in the hope that the change would prove beneficial. Mrs. Daniels had spent some time in California with him, and a trip to Arizona and New Mexico was also contemplated.

Funeral services were held from the Congregational Church in Douglas last Saturday, Rev. Horace Mann officiating. Interment was made in the Douglas cemetery.

Hiram Ross Daniels was born in Douglas, September 28, 1912, and at the time of death was 14 years, 7 months and 21 days old. Besides his parents he is survived by two brothers, Leslie R. Daniels, student at the Colorado Agricultural College at Fort Collins, and Theodore C. Daniels, a Douglas attorney.
