Henry Kistler Dies of Injuries

Henry Kistler, formerly of Lusk and more recently employed on the Bixler Ranch south of Harrison, was found on the prairie Saturday unconscious and seriously injured. He died early Wednesday morning.

He had gone to the pasture on horseback in the morning armed with a pitchfork to bring in a very vicious bull. About 11 a.m. he was found, his face badly crushed and lacerated. He was taken to a Torrington hospital where it was found he had a skull fracture.

It was first thought that he had been dragged by the horse, but no evidence on his clothing or body indicated such. It is thought by some that the bull upset the horse catching the rider underneath since one stirrup was flattened and a boot heel damaged on that side. The body will be brought to Lusk for burial though arrangements were incomplete at Herald Press time.
