Mrs. Fannie Philipps at Rest.
Grandma Philipps, mother of Mrs. Phillip Frese of Kirtley, Wyoming, died in Oldenburg,Germany, February 18, 1907, at the age of 75 years, 3 months and 27 days. She was the mother of seven children, four sons and three daughters, all of whom are living. Three sons are in Germany, the other.John Philipps, lives at Douglas, Wyoming. The daughters are Mrs. Phillip Frese of Kirtley, Wyoming, Mrs. Julius Kruse of Rolfe, Iowa, and Mrs. Louis Frese of Marcus, Iowa. When John (the youngest and the only one single now) was about six months old, her husband died and she had to work very hard to bring up her family, but she certainly did her duty well as her children are all neat and industrious, as was dear old grandma. She was a model housekeeper and hard to beat at fancy work, and was never idle. About 11 years ago she came to America and since that time until last June lived with her three daughters, but staid (sic) most of the time with Mrs. Phillip Frese. Last June she started back to visit her sons and to see her old home. She enjoyed the trip on the ocean so much, and seemed quite contented until December, then she began to get homesick and wanted to come back to America, but her sons didn't want her to leave them so soon; but she kept wanting to come, and the homesickness brought on other sickness, and being old and feeble, it was more than she could endure, and she left this world of sorrow and suffering for that brighter world on high, and the Master can truly say. "Well done thy good and faithful servant."
SHE'S GONE HOME
Dear Grandma from us has departed,
She has gone to her husband above;
Tho her children seem most brokenhearted.
They'll some day meet the mother they love.
It is so hard to part with our loved ones,
But God knows what is best for us all;
We all must go when our time comes.
Let's be ready to answer His call.
