Juanita Jewel Cole

Juanita Jewel Coffey, 89, of Erick, Okla. died Aug. 9, 1999. Services were held Aug 13, at the Sweetwater Baptist Church in Sweetwater Okla., with interment in the Buffalo Cemetery in Sweetwater.

Juanita was born August 1, 1910, to B. H. "Hugh" Howell and Grace Purcell Howell in Rankin, Okla.

She joined the First Baptist Church of Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 13. At the time of her death, she was the oldest living member of the Sweetwater Baptist Church. Working with the little children was her special pleasure, and she served in the church nursery for over 28 years.

She married Lennie Wallace Coffey on March 20, 1929 in Mayfield, Okla. They made their home on a farm near Sweetwater, Okla. before retiring and moving to Erick, Okla. in 1972.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Dale; her parents; one brother; and one sister. She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Colleen and James Allen, and Maxine and Lyndol Cole, both of Norman, Okla.; three sons and their wives, Denzel and Shelley Coffey of Manville; Lloyd and Clara Jo Coffey of Wildorado, Texas; and Royce and Kathryn Coffey of Woodward, Okla.; 16 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
