Mrs. T.M. Powell Dies February 12

Mrs. Tress M. Powell, resident of Harrison since 1906, died suddenly last Wednesday morning. Though she has been ill for some time, she had been quite active. When she became ill Wednesday, a physician was called from Crawford. She was being taken by ambulance to the hospital when death came.

Ethelyn A. Powell , the daughter of George and Mary Collamore, was born March 10, 1889 at Utica, Neb. In 1906 she came to Sioux County with her mother. On August 21,1911 she was married to Tress M. Powell at Hot Springs S. Dak.

The deceased is survived by her husband, two daughters Georgia of Harrison, Arlene Farnum of Tamworth, N.H., and one son, William of Harrison. There are seven grandchildren: John, Donna Jean, and Jody Powell of Harrison, and Jane, Ann, William and Walter Farnum of Tamworth; three brothers, Elmer and Ed of Tacoma Wash., and Dean of Pleasanton, Texas.

Preceding her in death were her mother, father, one sister, and three brothers.

Mrs. Powell was a member of the Memorial Methodist Church in Harrison, the Eastern Star Lodge, Rebekah Lodge, and the Woman's Society of Christian Service.

Funeral Services were held at the Methodist Church on Saturday afternoon with the Rev. James Keith officiating. Musical numbers were sung by Mrs. Harry Serres and Mrs. Bill Coffee accompanied by Mrs. M.H. Koch. The Houston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Harrison cemetery. Pallbearers were Bob Powell, Bill Coffee, John Bixler, E.E. Whitaker, J. A. McClarey, and Carl Engebretsen.

Mrs. Milton Bixler, Mrs. Eddie Cassels, Mrs. Howard McNeil, and Mr. and Mrs. Hohn Bixler of Scottsbluff; Gerald Kennedy, Rex Coffee, Mrs. Lon Cope, Mrs. Eleanor Fos, and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Powell and family of Chadron; George Powell and daughter of Crawford; Mr. and Mrs. Elmus Corbin and Mr. Harold Thorson of Mitchell; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cherry of Morrill; and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Fernau of Lusk.
