Rex T. Coffee Jr.

Rex T. Coffee Jr., a 57-year-old Sioux County rancher, died at his ranch home the evening of January 14. Graveside service was held at the Bodarc Cemetery January 19 with The Rev. Alex Peterson officiating.

Rex Coffee was born in Omaha and attended grade school in rural Sioux County, graduated from Chadron Prep School and attended Chadron State College where he played football and basketball. He served as a Navy pilot in
World War II.

Mr. Coffee and Vera L. Hardt of McGrew were married May 7, 1945. After serving in the military, Coffee returned to northern Sioux County where he operated the family ranch.

He is survived by his widow Vera, Sons Dan and Buff, daughter Cyd and granddaughter Megan, all of rural Harrison and sons Jay of Chadron and Sam of Sacramento Calif., his parents, Rex Sr. and Ermine Coffee of Chadron and a sister Jean Roeding of Tucson, Ariz.
