Jeraldine M. Hineman

Jeraldine M. Hineman, 75, of Lusk, passed away on October 2, 2018. Born August 3, 1943 to Irene Isabelle (Edwards) and Howard Enos Hladky in Sheridan, WY. Jeraldine grew up in Emmett, Kansas and after completing high school she moved to Sheridan, where she worked in a photograph shop until she married.

Jeraldine lived in Gillette and Casper prior to moving to Keeline in 1975 and subsequently to Lusk. She is survived by her husband, Allen Hineman of Lusk. She is the mother of Audrey Waldock (Carl Bolton) of Pittsburgh, PA; Quentin (Laura) Waldock of Killdeer, ND; and, Julie Zenow (Todd) of Casper, WY. Sister of Merle (Joyce) Hladky and Greg (Anne) Hladky of Topeka, KS. Grandmother of Ashley (Brody) Saults, Willow Waldock and Makayla Waldock and loving great-grandmother of Parker Saults. She is also survived by several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Virginia (Loran) Reiners and grandson, Travis Waldock.

Jeraldine was a school bus driver for many years in Niobrara County. She was a 4-H leader in Natrona and Niobrara, serving as a leader for many years after her own children aged out of the program. She also served as a director of the Niobrara County Library, and as a board member from 1997 to 2003. Although ill health kept her from as active a community life as she wished, she nonetheless was a fixture at the Niobrara County Fair every year, often exhibiting her handiwork.

Like many young girls, she loved horses. Whenever possible, she visited her grandparents, Henry and Daphne Edwards, who ranched near Rozet, where she was able to ride. As a young mother, she had horses and ponies for her children. Even when her health declined, she kept a pony and cart for many years after moving into Lusk.

Jeraldine was cremated, a Mass will be held at St. Leo’s Catholic Church on Saturday, October 13 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a luncheon and graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Niobrara County 4-H Council, Niobrara County Library or Niobrara Community Hospital.
