DOUBLE FUNERAL HELD FOR MRS. SCOTT AND DAUGHTER, SUN.

Another tragedy struck in the Dillon Scott family, when Mrs. Scott succumbed on Thursday from injuries received in an automobile accident the previous week. The little five-year-old daughter, Darlene, was killed instantly.

Dopuble funeral services for the mother and child were held in the Peet Chapel in Lusk on last Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock.

Dillon Scott, Jr., 12-year-old son of the couple, who was riding with the mother and sister when the accident occurred, is still in a serious condition in a Billings, Mont., hospital. He suffered head and chest injuries and has been unconscious much of the time since the accident.

Elmer Meyers, formerly of Lusk, but now of Los Angeles, Calif., and father of Mrs. Scott, stayed with the little boy while the father came to Lusk to attend the funeral services. Max Meyers and Corine, uncle and aunt of the boy, also remained with him.

The accident occurred on a downhill grade as Mrs. Scott and the two children were traveling from Billings to Thermopolis. Mrs. Scott evidently lost control of the car and all three were thrown from the car before it finally rolled over into the borrow pit.

A Montana highway patrolman discovered the accident, which happened near Bridger, Mont., and the victims were taken back to Billings.

Ruth Meyers Scott was born in Lusk, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Meyers and grew to young lady hood here, having attended the Lusk schools. Some 13 years ago she was married to Dillon Scott and with their two children they had lived in Lance Creek and Lusk much of the time until about a year ago, when they moved to Montana.

Mr. Scott is employed by the Wyoming Butane Company, which is operated by Joe Miller, also formerly of Lusk .

A sister, Miss Betty Meyers, and her mother, came up from Ft. Collins, where they reside, to attend funeral services.

Mr. Scott was accompanied by a sister also. He was here completing arrangements for the funeral service for little Darlene, which was to be held on Friday, when his wife passed away. Plans were then changed and both services were held on Sunday.

Rev. Lawrence Juell, pastor of the Congregational Church, officiated. Miss Neoma Taylor sang "Little Pink Rose," and Miss Patricia Taylor sand "Life's Weaving," and then "Old Rugged Cross" was sung as a duet at the close of the service. Mrs. J.P. Watson presided at the instrument.

Casket bearers for Darlene were Barbara Taylor, Patsy Guibault, Betty Holcomb and Geraldine Turner. Those acting as casket bearers were close friends and former schoolmates. They were Robert Taylor, Jake Lorenzen, Jim Tenney, Ray Doman, Gordon Crinklaw and Val Edmondson.

Interment was made in the Lusk cemetery and the song "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" was sung by the Misses Neoma and Patricia Taylor at the graveside.
