Cecil Stevens, 56, Succombs Monday At Local Hospital
Cecil Stevens, a resident of this community for the past 12 years, passed away at the Lusk hospital on Monday, July 8 his death being attributed to a malignant liver condition following a major operation which he underwent at the local institution on Friday, June 28. The deceased, who had been herding sheep on the C.A. David ranch in the Hat Creek community since September, had been in ill health during the winter. He was 56 years of age.
Brief funeral services were held in the Peet Chapel at 4:30 0'clock Tuesday afternoon with Reverend P.H. Evans officiating. Burial was made in the Lusk cemetery and graveside services were also performed.
The deceased is survived by his mother of Pontiac, Illinois and one brother of West Virginia who both were unable to attend.
