Mrs. Alva Stetson of Harrison Succumbs at the Lusk Hospital
Young Mother From Harrison Falls Victim of Childbirth in Lusk Hospital, Sunday
Mrs. Alva Stetson, aged 21, of Harrison, passed away at the Lusk Hospital on Sunday, January 29 from the effects of eclampsia (childbirth). She was brought to the hospital by Dr. MacNeil of Harrison, and little hope of her recovery was entertained from the start.
Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Peet Mortuary and the body was taken to Harrison where services were held on Wednesday at the Methodist Church, and burial was made in the Crawford Cemetery. Her infant baby, which preceded her in death several hours, was buried beside her.
Mrs. Stetson was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Millard Thayer of Harrison, and besides her husband she is survived by her parents and four brothers and four sisters.
She was married in 1931 to Alva Stetson and the Harrison community has been her home all her life.
