Margie Smith
Little Margie Smith, daughter of Frank and Gladys Smith, was born at Ravenwood, Mo., Nov. 11, 1923. Departed this life at her home in Scottsbluff, Neb., May 16, 1930, aged six years, six months and five days. Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church by Rev. Roy N. Spooner. Mrs. Dorothe Anderson Lanning and Mrs. Marie Joachim sang "Abide With Me," Sweetly Resting," "Safe in the Arms of Jesus." Pallbearers were members of the Royal Neighbors, who attended in a body. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery at Scottsbluff, Neb.
Margie had suffered much the past year and what she lacked in physical strength was made up in mental strength. The patience displayed was remarkable, and the wisdom of her utterances was marvelous for one of her years. Even though she was bedfast, she sang her little song every day:
With joy my heart is ringing,
Joy, Joy, Joy
God's love to me is all
My sins are all forgiven
My heart is bubbling over,
With his joy, joy, joy.
