Estella A. Clark

Services for Estella A. Clark, 81, were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, 1991, in the Bader-Peet Mortuary Chapel in Lusk with Rev. Allen Kallenbach officiating. Another service will be held Friday morning, Nov. 29, in Alden, Iowa, with burial in the Alden Cemetery.

Clark died early Saturday morning, Nov. 23, 1991, at the Niobrara County Nursing Home.

Estella Arline Kuenkel was born Sept. 20, 1910, the daughter of A. G. (Albert) and Hazel Morgan Kuenkel, at Buffalo Center, Iowa. She attended school at Iowa Falls, Iowa, and took "Normal Training" which enabled her to teach country school.

She married Maynard E. Clark on Nov, 9, 1934, in Des Moines, Iowa.

She was a Past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star and served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years at Alden, Iowa, where she and her husband made their home until moving to Lusk in 1962. Upon moving here, she took up bowling. She served as financial secretary for the Congregational Church for 10 years and played the piano for O.E.S. as long as she was able to do so.

After suffering some strokes, she was admitted to the nursing home in December 1983. She remained first in Crawford, Neb. and then the Niobrara County Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Maynard.

Survivors include two daughters, Bette DeBates of Lusk and Marilyn Pennington of Page, Ariz.; two sons, Gary Clark of Lake Havasu, Ariz. and James Clark of Casper; two sisters, Mildred Johnson of Wichita, Kan. and Wilma Kromingo of Waterloo, Iowa; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

For those who wish, memorials to the Lusk Congregational Church or to the Niobrara County Nursing Home will be appreciated by the family.
